Yibi was born from three engineers’ relentless pursuit of precision manufacturing, and their founding vision to put Chinese intelligent manufacturing on the global stage.
Before founding the company, the founders witnessed the rise of China’s manufacturing industry, but also saw the stark reality of the high-end luxury sector: Chinese enterprises were mostly confined to low-value-added contract manufacturing, while the core hardware for top luxury brands was monopolized by overseas suppliers. "China cannot produce luxury-grade precision products" was an unchallenged industry consensus.
In 2009, the three founders left stable careers at Fortune 500 companies, bringing their core technology to enter the luxury hardware segment. Faced with the stringent requirement that a deviation of just 0.01mm results in scrapped parts, the team worked on the production floor to refine their craft. After three years, they overcame core technical challenges including material formulation, surface treatment, and mass production consistency, creating a hardware solution that met the world’s top international standards, and successfully entered the supply chain of European and American high-end brands.
